Job Cards

The Job Cards (JC) Manager is designed to manage the assignment and administration of a collection of tasks and/or forms.  

Tasks are combined into a job card where they have common attributes, such as system/subsystem boundaries, project phase/stage and associated workgroup requirements.

At a minimum, a job card should be comprised of task that has common attributes, such as:

• WORK BREAKDOWN STRUCTURE (PROJECT, PHASE, STAGE AND/OR ACTIVITY)
• SYSTEMIZATION

Items to NOTE:

• The JC restricts tasks as by Systemization and WBS.  So, if you have a JC assigned a WBS down to an activity, but the existing task instances had no WBS assigned, that is the reason why no tasks are showing.   The JC restricts tasks with an AND STATEMENT using systemization and WBS.

• If existing task instances have NO WBS assigned:  To assign WBS you need to go to Commissioning > Inspections and Test Forms, Planned.  You need to go to a task centric module to batch edit common attributes, in this case WBS assignments. Use the search panel to refine that. I have already batch edited all task instances that had Task Type = MECHANICAL COMPLETION and PRECOMMISSIONING.

• You must go into PLANNED TASKS and batch edit the WBS, and make sure you JC is the same, OR up1 from Activity, then it will show all tasks of the same stage.  If you have a JC has a PROJECT, STAGE and PHASE and the Task Instances have PROJECT, PHASE, STAGE AND ACTIVITY it will show the tasks, which makes sense. The restriction is broader, not narrower. It would narrow the list of tasks if you had the JC down to the activity, which you CAN DO, you will just need to modify your task instances.

A JC can administer using either a “paper based” or digital approach.  The paper approach is more common for technical test forms that include complex tables to fill out.  The paper test forms utilize QR codes (similar to barcode) so they can be easily scanned back into the CCMS and automate upload and completions tracking.  JC test forms are MERGED into one (1) file that can be can be saved or printed.  

The “digital” approach is commonly used for simple “checklist” type of tasks or test forms, which require simple ACCEPT/REJECT type of answers, enter in readings or operating parameters. They are not meant for complex table entries.    

The purpose of the colored bubbles is to provide a quick status on a Job Card.  It is designed to provide users the understanding if a JC has been printed or associated tasks are complete.
